Preparing salmon
Here’s what to do to prepare salmon before cooking it: Rinse the salmon (fillet or steak) and pat it dry. Use a pair of tweezers (or your fingers) to remove any pin bones in the salmon. These are small, thin bones that run down the center of the fillet.
You can either choose fresh salmon : if so, look for a firm bright flesh with the skin intact (not slimy).
You can also pick frozen salmon. You can either cook it frozen or thaw it beforehand.

Salmon is typically found in the colder waters of the North Atlantic and Pacific oceans. The most common species of salmon are sockeye, chinook, coho, and pink. Salmon is also raised in sea-farms in Norway. Salmon is an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for brain and heart health. It is also high in protein, vitamin B12, and vitamin D. Eating salmon regularly can also help reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, and certain types of cancer.
Smoked salmon, canned salmon, salmon roe can also be found in supermarkets, but are usually eaten cold, or just reheated before serving.
